Welcome!

To this year´s TSC PANAMA 2023

Bio-Rad, as an emblematic company in the development of diagnostic tests for infectious diseases and the study of blood compatibility in the Transfusion area, since its origins, has focused its efforts on promoting the continuous training of personnel involved in blood collection, processing, and transfusion destination. The Transfusion Science Course, globally known as TSC is an educational initiative sponsored initially by Diamed in Switzerland, which was born as a solution to the need for training in the area of Immunohematology, which, due to its complexity and level of specialization, requires a suitable and specialized preparation.

For several years TSC was carried out in Cressier, Switzerland, with the collaboration of expert researchers who develop International Transfusion Medicine standards, facilitating access to knowledge in the primary and innovative topics of interest. Latin America has been characterized by a select and very limited participation in events of this magnitude, mainly due to barriers such as language and geographic location, limitations that led to the search for solutions for Bio-Rad’s Spanish-speaking user community in the region. The said purpose was formally created in 2016 in Mexico as the host country for a TSC, taking place consecutively for four years in-person and online formats. During the Covid-19 pandemic it was interrupted for a year and resumed in the online format for 2021, and since 2022 a new modality of the TSC began with an itinerant version in different latitudes of the region, starting in Lima, Peru, with great expectations and exceptional results and moving to Panama as the host venue during this 2023, extending an invitation for the first time to the English-speaking countries of the Caribbean.

During May 18, 19, and 20 of 2023 in Panama City, TSC will have the participation of distinguished speakers, such as MD. Eduardo Muñiz, PhD. Carla Dinardo, Msc. Sue Johnson, Mr. Paul Aerts, Msc. Arnaud Raggiani and Msc. Ana Claudia Peron, continuing Bio-Rad’s emblematic educational leadership in the region.
